Manchester exhibition hosted by Akram Khan, presenting Antony Gormley, Anish Kapoor and Darvish Fakhr

Manchester exhibition of artists’ works will run at The Lowry Museum between 15th November and Feburary 6th 2015.

Fakhr’s nine-panel painting of Akram Khan is in the National Portraits Gallery permanent collection and, among other awards, he won the BP Portraits Travel Award to Iran.

A graduate of The Slade he has lived and painted in Brighton for the past 15 years.

Darvish Fakhr was recently featured at Edge of Arabia Gallery (www.eoaprojects.com) with Palimpsest! inspired by the walls of contemporary Iran, where uncensored communication is possible.

Fakhr says: “The walls are witnesses to what they see”.

His work has also been displayed at solo shows at the prestigious Aun Gallery inTeheran in 2013 and 2011.
