These are the terms on which greatreporter.com, published by Videowire Limited, is made available to readers and to the journalists who write for it. Using the site or filing a story means you accept them. They apply equally to videowire.co.uk.

Using the site

You may read greatreporter.com freely. You may quote a headline, the first paragraph of a story and a link to the full article on greatreporter.com without charge. Any further reproduction, republication or redistribution of our content, in any medium, needs our prior written consent, which you can request at editorial@greatreporter.com. Use beyond those limits without consent will be invoiced at our standard rates, and unpaid invoices are pursued as set out on our About page.

You may not use automated tools to copy the site wholesale, to scrape it for training or resale, or to interfere with its operation.

Filing a story

By filing a story or a photograph through our webform you confirm that you are its author or its copyright holder, that it is your original work, that it is accurate and error-free to the best of your knowledge, and that any quotation in it is attributed to a named person in a stated role. You confirm that you have told us where, if anywhere, it has been published before.

You keep the copyright in what you send us. You grant greatreporter.com a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to publish it on the site under your name, with the date you filed it, to keep it on the record, and to display it to commissioning editors who may wish to buy it. Where a commissioning editor buys your material through greatreporter.com, you are paid by PayPal or bank transfer less greatreporter.com's commission of 50 per cent, as described on the About page.

An editor reads every story before it goes near the site. We may decline to publish a story, and we may edit for length, clarity and house style; we do not change the meaning of what you wrote. We may withdraw a story if we learn that it breaches these terms or the law.

Accuracy and corrections

We publish in good faith and correct errors when they are brought to our attention. Requests for correction go to editorial@greatreporter.com. Restored articles from the archive are marked as such.

Liability

greatreporter.com is provided as it is. We take care with what we publish, but we do not guarantee that the site will be available at all times or that every article is free of error, and we accept no liability for loss arising from reliance on its content, to the extent the law allows. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Privacy

How we handle personal information is set out in our privacy policy.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute about them.

Changes

When these terms change, the new version is published here with the date it took effect. This version took effect on 7 September 2026.
