NYA expands its presence in the Americas and Asia Pacific

Specialist crisis prevention and response consultancy, NYA International, has expanded its global capability with the incorporation of entities in the USA and Singapore and the appointment of Regional Directors for the Americas and Asia Pacific. Based in New York and Singapore, the directors will be responsible for the strategic direction and delivery of NYA’s security risk and crisis management services throughout their regions.

This follows the appointment of Sir Graham Boyce KCMG and Ian Barclay to the board as Chairman and Non-Executive Director in April 2016 and December 2015 respectively.

In the Americas the Regional Director is Joe Carrera, who will oversee NYA’s services in North, South and Central America, as well as the Caribbean. Joe is a former commissioned officer in the US Army with significant experience in the private and government sectors. A leading expert in security project management, intelligence and investigations programs, he has provided crisis prevention and response services worldwide. He worked in Iraq as a security and in-country manager, as elected board member of the Overseas Security Advisory Council at the American Embassy in Baghdad and as project manager for the Sadr City water treatment plant. He has served as chairman for interagency programs, coordinating policy with the State Department, Department of Defense and other agencies.

In Asia Pacific the Regional Director is Richard Hancock. Richard had eight years’ experience as an inspector in the Royal Hong Kong Police, including responsibility for land and maritime counter-terrorism operations. He has provided in-depth crisis risk mitigation services throughout Asia-Pacific, Africa and the Middle East for governments, NGOs and Fortune 500 companies, including crisis response, emergency planning, business continuity and corporate security training. Richard has conducted mass personnel evacuation services throughout Asia and coordinated major consulting exercises at a wide range of critical assets, including seaports, airports, retail chains, schools and oil refineries.

Alex Kemp, Managing Director, comments: “On behalf of the Board I am delighted to announce the appointment of Joe and Richard as inaugural Regional Directors. Both have a wealth of specialised, regionally specific experience and share a common vision for NYA’s future. These appointments represent a significant milestone for NYA. We have been highly active in the Americas and Asia Pacific for many years, maximising opportunities and delivering successful outcomes for clients across all industry sectors. Alongside the addition of Sir Graham Boyce and Ian Barclay to the Board in the past year, these appointments will help to build on this success by developing and guiding the strategic direction and delivery of our global crisis prevention and response services.”
