Designer Viviana Gabeiras of Petit Pois Wins Humanitarian Award and Showcases Fall/Winter 2013 Collection at Miami Fashion Week

On Wednesday, March 20, 2013 internationally renowned fashion designer Viviana G showcased the Fall/Winter 2013 collection of Petit Pois during the 15th annual Miami Fashion Week. In conjunction with her Fall/Winter 2013 debut, Viviana G was honored with the “Icon Designer” of the year on the event’s opening night and joined a number of top designers who presented their collections to an audience of industry insiders.

Petit Pois’ “Top Secret: My Name is G....Viviana G: Masquerade in Prague” opened with a powerful performance by singer Bea Pernia and her delivery of “Sky Fall”.  Setting the stage with 007 charm, the presentation captured the audience with its covert sensuality including models sauntering in embellished masks and a Bond doppelganger gracing the catwalk frequently in a slate gray suit to a signature Bond-themed soundtrack.

Celebrity guests included Mexican singer, actress and model Paulina Rubio; Cuban American model and broadcast host Lili Estefan; Mexican film and television actress Adriana Barraza; Colombian actor and model Fabian Rios; People en Español Fashion director Kika Rocha; Colombian-American actor Mauricio Henao; model Mirapily Rivera and Colombian actress Ximena Duque.

Renowned for her handiwork with luxury knit and mesh fabrics and celebrated as an exclusive leader in the mesh contemporary market for more than 12 years,  the 20-garment collection featured a range of sensual silhouettes from long couture dresses to blouses, skirts, dusters, jackets and dresses.  Warm, autumnal tones round out the color palette – fuchsia, verdant green, lotus blue, steel gray, cargo green, chocolate, Dijon and black. Viviana also introduced special-effect fabrics with embroidery along with embossed, flocking and abstract prints.  The debut of her handbag line, VG by Viviana G and Brazilian high-end footwear brand Bruno Menegatti breathed elegance and flair to each garment.
