On the 14th of September, a Charity Auction organised by Jackie Chan to support children from remote areas, was held in Beijing.
Richard Mille wished to support the Charity of his friend Jackie Chan and collaborated with in designing the RM JC Tourbillon especially for this event.
The unique white gold timepiece was sold for 5, 5 millions RMB (755 000 CHF / 630 000 € / 860 000 US Dollars) and the record sale for this evening.
Richard Mille is very delighted with this great result as the money raised from the sale of this exceptional watch will enable Jackie Chan to pursue his work with his Charity the Dragon’s Heart Foundation which helps less fortunate children in remote areas by the construction of new schools, 20 of which have already been built since 2004.
The RM JC is an exceptional timepiece, combining the extreme technical characteristics of Richard Mille watches with strong symbolic themes. The Charity’s logo was chosen as the focus for this creation. Placed at the heart of the movement, the logo represents Jackie Chan holding the hands of two children, a cause close to his heart. Situated on the dial, the Dragon’s Heart lettering is shown both in English and Chinese. On the back of the watch case the words “Foundation Jackie Chan” are engraved.
