FA signs Scancom as their official BlackBerry supplier

Scancom has announced that the PFA (Professional Footballers’ Association) has chosen Scancom.co.uk based in Leicester as their official Mobile Solutions provider.

Scancom provided the full BlackBerry Enterprise Solution, handsets and Orange airtime.

In addition Scancom.co.uk also set up web based reporting and an on-line issue resolution service to ensure the needs of the PFA is met efficiently.

The Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) was formed on 2nd December 1907 and is the world’s longest established professional sportsperson’s union. The aims of the PFA are to protect, improve and negotiate the conditions, rights and status of all professional players by collective bargaining agreements.

Scancom.co.uk is one of the UK’s leading business BlackBerry providers. Being an Orange Federated Partner and a BlackBerry Elite Alliance Member put Scancom.co.uk in the perfect position to serve the requirements of the PFA.

Scancom.co.uk also opened the first dedicated BlackBerry Centre in the UK.

George Berry (Commercial Director (North)) and Jon Kilburn (Director of IT) stated “working with Scancom to provide the BlackBerry BES devices for the PFA was easy and painless. From both a commercial perspective and technical view, we were able to formulate a structure and roadmap. The service levels have been exemplary and better than dealing direct with the network.

“They (Scancom.co.uk) have worked hard in building a solid CRM platform which we verified as a pre-requisite.”

Lee Underwood (Enterprise Director Orange, RIM) and Mark Evans (BlackBerry Orange Key Account
Manager) said “We introduced the PFA to Scancom because they were able to provide a range of services that matched really well with the requirements of the PFA. We are delighted that this has resulted in an excellent relationship which we are confident will continue to evolve and grow”.

Ian Barlow and Mark O’Meara (Orange) said “we are thrilled with this partnership. Scancom.co.uk is one of our most highly respected business partners. Orange will continue to fully support and provide full resources to this project.”

Chen Kotecha / Kal Kotecha (Scancom.co.uk) stated that “It’s an absolute pleasure to be working with the PFA, BlackBerry and Orange. The PFA are totally in tune with Technology and what technology can do for their efficiency and ROI. Leveraging our relationship with Orange and BlackBerry we were able to define the optimum solution for the PFA for both current and future requirements. Due to the nature of work, the PFA requires SECURE communications and efficient use of data.

“The BlackBerry solution via Orange provides the platform needed. It’s refreshing to see how the PFA based their decisions not just on business size but after examining endorsements from Orange and BlackBerry along with a review of the back office systems used to support clients.“

Scancom.co.uk is a leading provider in the UK of BlackBerry devices and airtime. With almost 15 years in the industry Scancom.co.uk continues to bring cutting edge telecoms products to market through its distribution channels.

Scancom is based in Leicester.
