Scancom Wins T-Mobile Award for Highest Data Attachment Rate, and Business Partner Status

Scancom.co.uk has been awarded T-Mobile's prestigious award for highest data attachment rate by T-Mobile's independent dealer channel. And Scancom begins selling the new BlackBerry Curve 8900 in-store from today.

Chen Kotecha BA ACA, Managing Director of Scancom.co.uk, said: "This is great for Scancom to be recognised by T-Mobile – especially for our BlackBerry services. We started working with BlackBerry five years ago and have pursued the partnership since then, from handsets and email to other expansive solutions."

Scancom - based in Wigston, Leicester - now provides BlackBerry tracking and Sat Nav as part of its BlackBerry portfolio.

"The Scancom website www.scancom.co.uk has become a central focus for most small business customers in the region. However, over the last year we have also seen a steep rise in the number of consumer customers buying Blackberries. This will continue to be the trend for 2009 as BlackBerry devices now work with the majority of social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace," Chen adds.

BlackBerry is going from strength-to-strength in the UK, and with Scancom taking delivery of the new BlackBerry Curve 8900 today, pre-Christmas sales are about to step up a notch for the company.

The BlackBerry Curve 8900 boasts an impressive 512MHz processor and can accommodate a 16GB memory card. With on-board GPS and Wi-Fi it is the killer device the mobile market has been waiting for.

"I am particularly proud that Leicester has been put on the map as far as customers are concerned with respect to BlackBerry," Chen adds.

"Our customers trusted us when we suggested they move away from their traditional phones and try BlackBerry. To date all of them now swear by BlackBerry and just keep looking forward to the next handset release."
