Network Rail Awards Telent Two Telecoms Framework Contracts
telent, the technology services company, has been awarded two telecoms framework contracts by Network Rail covering its Western and South East Regions.
Under the framework contracts, telent will provide the telecoms equipment and services necessary to renew Network Rail’s operational railway communication networks and systems over the next 12-18 months.
The new contracts follow the award to telent in 2005 of a 5-year framework contract for the densely populated South East Region which saw the company’s Rail business install, commission and test a wide range of telecommunications equipment - from networks supporting signalling, to driver communications.
The Western Region, awarded to telent for the first time, includes London and covers a large area stretching from South Wales to Cornwall.

Customers include: Airwave, BT, Deutsche Bahn, EADS, Merseyside Fire & Rescue, the Metropolitan Police, National Express, Network Rail, Stagecoach, Tube Lines, and the UK Highways Agency.
