telent is pleased to announce that it has achieved Physical Security Authorized Technology Provider (ATP) status from Cisco...

This designation recognises telent as having fulfilled the training requirements and programme requisites to sell, deploy and support Cisco’s range of network based physical security products including CCTV and Access Control solutions.

To qualify for ATP status, telent demonstrated the technical skills required to deploy Cisco’s solutions alongside other 3rd party equipment within a wide range of industries. telent has a significant track record in CCTV system audit, design, installation, integration and maintenance having commissioned over 1,800 cameras for London Underground infrastructure partner Tube Lines.

telent has developed a comprehensive lab facility, replicating end-user conditions to further develop our solutions and train engineering and sales teams.

Cisco’s physical security product set is best-in-class, forgoing the requirement for the complex mix of amplifiers and transmitters that went hand-in-hand with previous generations of security solutions, offering a simplified network environment and reduced energy usage/cost.

Cisco’s cameras also pave the way for a number of Next Generation CCTV applications including:

Video Analytics – Sophisticated analytic solutions can help security personnel to easily pinpoint events of genuine importance alerting operators to predefined events or abnormal behaviour such as objects left in unexpected areas or movement in secure zones, automating the historically resource intensive task of threat detection.

Unified Communications – Enabling greater collaboration internally and with external agencies, unified communications allows video recordings or live feeds can be more easily shared between users/devices including Mobile Data Terminals (MDT).

“When a vendor at the forefront of technology, such as Cisco, recognises the strength of your capabilities, you know you’re doing something right!” comments Bob Swallow, General Manager of telent’s Integrated Solutions business “This accreditation highlights our ability to combine telent’s technical expertise and comprehensive service offering with best-in-class products, delivering the optimal solution to end-users.”

With annual revenues of over £300 million, telent has decades of experience in supplying a broad range of network and communications services in the UK and Germany. Today, the privately-held company employs over 2,500 people and has one of the largest engineering field forces in the UK. Customers include: Airwave, BT, Deutsche Bahn, EADS, Merseyside Fire & Rescue, the Metropolitan Police, National Express, Network Rail, Stagecoach, Tube Lines, and the UK Highways Agency.
