The song ‘My Christmas Dream Is You’ will raise funds for the North West based charity ‘When You Wish Upon a Star’, which grants wishes for terminally ill children. The record and video will play during half time marking the official launch of the single. Fans will be encouraged to let others know through social media and download the record, helping grant wishes for children with life threatening or life limiting illness.
The 27-year-old singer has been astounding the music world with her stunning voice. Pope Francis chose her song ‘Ave Maria’ as the official song of the Jubilee, and Carly made history by singing in Rome’s Forum in July. She’s been accompanied in concert by Andrea Bocelli, Nicole Scherzinger and a host of international superstars.
Football fan Carly chose the Premier League to launch her Christmas recording, insisting it was the perfect back-drop for her feel-good seasonal song.
Says Carly ‘When You Wish Upon a Star’ supported me when I was starting my singing career by allowing me to sing at their fundraising events, so I want to raise as much as I can for the amazing children they help.
‘Lots of ‘Wish’ children are treated at Alder Hey in Liverpool and as I love football, I’m absolutely thrilled to have the official launch at Everton when they play Manchester United and I want to say a huge thank you to the Club for helping launch the record.’
Everton have also offered support through their social media channels with a host of celebrities already tweeting about the launch of the song.
