For many years, Richard Mille, with the Richard Mille Watch Foundation, has given his support to talented young drivers with a promising future in motorsports.
Richard Mille is delighted therefore to salute the victory of Charles Leclerc, Nicolas Todt’s young protege, who at only 13 years old has won the 2011 World Cup in the KF3 category which took place on Sunday 18th September.
The KF3 World Cup is a very prestigious karting challenge for juniors (13-15 years old) and reinforced its reputation in both the number of youngsters participating and the quality of their driving abilities during the final meeting of the series on the 16th, 17th and 18th September at the International Circuit of Sarno-Napoli in Italy.
The young Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc (Intrepid – TM) was impressive throughout the whole week-end. He was the fastest in the qualifying stages and dominated during the pre-finals leading to a decisive pole position in the last race subsequently winning him the 2011 World Cup KF3 category. This is the second major success following his victory in the Monaco Kart Cup last year confirming his huge talent which was discovered in 2008 when he became the youngest vice-champion of France in his category at only 10 years old.
Richard Mille partners Formula 1 driver Felipe Massa (Ferrari) and Jules Bianchi (Test Driver, Ferrari) and sponsors the team Art Grand Prix, directed by Nicolas Todt, through the Richard Mille Watch Foundation, created in 2004. ART Grand Prix competes in the GP2 and GP3 series which turns out many future stars in F1.
