Madiha Adil of Get Licensed awarded Asian Female Entrepreneur of the Year 2010 by MP Simon Hughes at London Hilton Hotel, Park Lane at the prestigious event hosted by PAA on 10th July 2010.
Madiha Adil arrived in the UK to pursue a degree in Human Resources and Employment Relations. During this time she was actively working as an intern at the House of Lords assisting Lord Nazir Ahmed and also as a Recruitment Officer at the Delaware North Companies.
Upon completion of her degree, Madiha Adil alongside her husband Shahzad Ali identified a gap in the market with regards to SIA security linked qualifications. She started Get Licensed in November 2007 with the objective of assisting both individual learners and employers to obtain highest standard of SIA (Security Industry Authority) approved training for SIA Licence Door Supervisor, Security Guard and CCTV Operator SIA Training courses.
With minimal resources at that time and being a new start-up in a pre-dominantly male (ex armed) oriented industry she experienced her share of difficulties. However, she had a vision and continued to work her way up in the industry whilst making some friends along the way and as with any business some enemies.
Get Licensed started from a small office in her apartment with no employees and is currently, the largest provider of SIA Course linked security qualifications with over 30 branches across UK and an employee base of 60 employees. The secret of the company’s progress within such a short span of time is it commitment to its mission of providing excellent customer care whilst developing and motivating its own staff.
The company keeps abreast of competitors in the industry by expanding its training portfolio and encouraging training and education through continuous innovation and technology. Lastly, the company strives to support deprived communities by providing funding, skills and education leading towards opportunities in life.
Get Licensed has grown to be one of the most envied and imitated companies in the security industry and this is only due to the hardwork and commitment depicted by Madiha and the never ending support from her husband Shahzad Ali.
