The incidence of victims suffering side-effects from Nolotil ingestion has become more frequent in Spain, a trend identified as a result of the private initiative of activist Cristina García del Campo, and the recent fatalities of a reported 10 British tourists prescribed NOLOTIL. The Spanish health authority “Agencia Española de Medicamentos y Productos Sanitarios (AEMPS)” has latterly intervened and has issued guidelines to hospitals, medical clinics and pharmacies effectively prohibiting the sale or prescription of NOLOTIL to tourists.
An association of NOLOTIL victims, ADAF, (Asociación De Afectados por Fármacos) has been founded on the initiative of Cristina García del Campo to further raise awareness of Nolotil issues and to proceed legally against the manufacturer and distributors of NOLOTIL in the form of a class-action lawsuit and various individual suits. There are already more than 200 victim reports and the number is increasing daily. To date, the estimated personal and material damages is already at more than €500M.
The international law firm of De Micco & Friends, based in Palma de Mallorca, has been assigned the brief of legally representing this case. Experienced in large claims, De Micco & Friends will represent the ADAF association in the class action and act for individual claimants.
