Salt Edge implements the “Know Your Customer” (KYC) feature into its Bank Feed API

Salt Edge has launched a new powerful Know Your Customer (KYC) service within the Spectre financial data aggregation platform. The implementation of this feature is intended to provide customer identity and address proof for Spectre API’s clients. It allows companies to retrieve essential information about users from their bank accounts to be further used with the purpose of KYC verification.

KYC is the process of a business verifying the identity of its customers by using reliable and independent documents or information. Banks usually require their clients to provide the original identification document and keep its copy. The implementation of this procedure is a significant step towards the prevention of financial fraud, identity theft, and money laundering.

The Salt Edge KYC service standardizes and centralizes the collection, verification and administration of KYC information, including, but not limited to: name, surname, date of birth, real physical address, Social Security Number.
