North London based publisher, St James’s House, is excited to announce the launch of it’s newest publication,The Story of Parliament: Celebrating 750 years of parliament in Britain. The event will also pay homage to the 800th anniversary of the signing of the Magna Carta – a now fundamental piece of British government and history.
Published in association with the History of Parliament Trust, the book will be unveiled at an exclusive drinks reception on the 22nd June at Westminster Abbey. By kind permission from the Dean and Chapter of Westminster, the event will be held within the architecturally stunning cloisters of the Abbey. Richard Freed, Director of St James’s House, is promising “an evening to remember”.
With involvement from British schools, sparkling wine served from British vineyards and food that is quintessentially British, St James’s House and the History of Parliament Trust are looking forward to welcoming 300 special guests to officially launch their new publication. Guests will have the exclusive opportunity to view the publication before distribution begins, with VIP speakers and light entertainment throughout.
The publication documents 750 years of Parliament and the development of democracy in the UK; its release in an election year is particularly poignant as we consider the effect parliament and the UK government have had on shaping the face of Britain today. After a month of exciting political developments, the launch will be sure to celebrate the many different faces of UK Parliament over the centuries.
