Shooting with SOF (Special Operation Forces) Charity Event.
Shooting with S-O-F (Special Operation forces) community fusion and charity event was organized by Scott Neil- a recently retired special operator and counter terrorism training subject matter expert.
Scott literally helped write the Army’s current weapons training standards utilized by our modern military. The event will benefit: Green Beret Foundation, the Foundation for exceptional warriors and a local Tampa veterans charities, Support the Troops in order to raise funds for their programs that assist in integration of combat wounded OIF/OEF warriors. On Saturday May 11th – 8:00 am until 12:00, Operators will team with local businesses, celebrities, disabled veterans, and community leaders to host their third competition shooting event to raise funds for charities that support ill injured and wounded special operators at Shooters World located at 116 E Fletcher Ave Tampa, FL 33612 (Tampa, FL).
The Shooting with SOF event will be held Saturday May 11th to raise money for The Green Beret Foundation, the Foundation for Exceptional Warriors, and the local Tampa veteran’s charity Support the Troops that provides care packages for soldiers overseas. The event will showcase Special Operations Forces (SOF) legends who have served their nation since 9/11 in Iraq, Afghanistan, as well as other global operations. These legends will be teamed with local businesses, celebrities, and community leaders in competition shooting events using special operations weapons. In addition to the competition lanes, a firing range will be dedicated for severely injured and disabled veterans assisted by special adaptive shooting technology. This re-integration of our wounded heroes, so they may enjoy the camaraderie of fellow servicemen and a grateful community, is a unique feature of this dynamic shooting event.
This event is made possible through the generous support of sponsors such as Remington Defense, Elder Automotive Group, Eagle Pitcher, Intelligent Decisions as well as corporations involved in adaptive sports technology, special operations support, and patriotic business leaders. The event will kickoff at 8:00 am Saturday morning the 11th of May at Shooters World, a new 60,000 square foot state of the art indoor shooting and retail facility located 116 E Fletcher Ave in Tampa, Fl.
As with previous Shooting with SOF events, there are only a few team positions available. However, additional support and awareness for veteran issues and our sponsored charities is welcome through watching the event and attending the after event party for only $10. Following the competition, there will be a chance to meet and greet next door to Shooters World hosted Elder Jaguar starting at 12:30pm. There will be plenty of raffles and silent auction items which support the charities and is open for the general public. Promoters are building this community/veteran fusion event after previous success with innovative veteran support projects such as the Daytona Bike Week, Romey Camargo (injured Green Beret) specialized wheelchair motorcycle, Follow the Flag campaign, and Law Enforcement De-Escalation for Veterans in Crisis program.
Hundreds of participants and supporters are expected as 25 teams of 4 will vie for bragging rights to earn the title “Shooting with SOF champions”.
