Bishops Garden Café (www.bishopsgardencafe.co.uk) will be opening its doors to customers in the heart of the newly renovated Bishops Park in June 2012. The new Cafe promises a fresh and exciting dining experience in the park based on an ‘Art of Healthy Eating’ food philosophy. The Bishops Garden Café is located in a charming Edwardian Pavilion that has been refurbished as a part of the comprehensive rejuvenation project recently completed by the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.
Ambassador Catering (www.ambassadorcatering.com) won the tender launched by the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham in 2011 for the operation of this new café concept in Bishops Park. Ambassador Catering is one of London and the Home Counties’ most prestigious and reputable venue management, event and catering companies. Chief Executive Officer Denise Marsh says: “Ambassador Catering has a wealth of experience in helping historic venues deliver excellent customer service and sublime dining experiences. We are excited to have the opportunity to provide this quality of service to local residents and visitors to the Bishops Garden Cafe.” She adds: “The user groups told us that they were tired of the traditional kiosk café concepts previously available. Bishops Garden Café will bring a new look to the London Café scene, offering a vibrant and fun dining destination in the heart of London, with a healthy, fresh from the garden theme.”
The Grade II listed Pavilion that houses Bishops Garden Café has been sympathetically restored, retaining many of its original features whilst upgrading facilities to include new washrooms, a commercial kitchen and a separate building serving as a community room and bowls clubhouse. The refurbished Bishops Garden Café will provide seating inside for 60 and outside for more than 120 -with in-house catering available for events held in both the Community Room and other ad hoc activities throughout the park.
At the Bishops Garden Café, locally sourced products and 100% homemade dishes will be on the menu every day. Seasonal flavours and themed menus will be regularly introduced to keep locals and regular users coming back for more. There will also be a full children’s menu, introducing the fun of growing and eating fresh vegetables with craft project cards telling the story of how and where the produce is grown. Home veggie and herb patch starter kits and mini gardening tools will also be available for children as part of a sponsored activity programme designed to inspire young people to develop a passion for a lifetime of healthy eating.
The Bishops Garden Café will open daily from 8.00 am starting in late June 2012. In the summer months it will remain open until 9.00 pm. In the autumn and winter months the cafe will close at dusk (approx. 5.00 pm).
