Wear jeans to support the troops!
( EMAILWIRE.COM, October 02, 2005 ) Los Angeles, CA — 4 The Troops, a 501(c)(3) national non-profit organization supporting the troops since March 2003, is asking America to show their Red, White and BLUE Jeans to support the troops! The national project calls for employers of America to designate a date between October 1st and November 30, 2005 to encourage their employees to wear jeans to support the troops. In return, their employees will donate $5.00 to wear jeans and the total proceeds will be donated to 4 The Troops so that they can ship morale boosting care packages to deployed and wounded U.S. troops this holiday season. 4 The Troops’ goal is to have every state involved and represented.
4 The Troops was founded by California resident, Anne Galvan, in March 2003 when the war in Iraq flooded the airwaves. The sight of soldiers covered in dust and sleeping on the grounds inspired her to do something to help them. She started a project she called “4 The Troops” dedicated to letting our American servicemen and women know that America cared and supported them. That inspiration quickly took off into a national campaign, supporting thousands of troops deployed worldwide with care packages.
Being the sister of a Desert Storm Veteran, Galvan knows all too well the importance of supporting the troops and being there for them. “We have thousands of troops on our list, many of them are deployed for the first time and others are serving second to third tours in the middle east. This project is an easy and fun way to inspire and unite employees of America to show their support in honor of the young men and women serving our country thousands of miles away from home,” says Galvan. “The troops have the toughest job in the world and they need to know that America still cares about them, especially during the holidays when they are so far away from home and regardless of political beliefs” adds Galvan.
4 The Troops is calling out to employers of America to encourage their employees to “Show their Red, White and BLUE Jeans” to support the troops and to join them in this national effort to make this holiday season a success for both the deployed and wounded U.S. troops. To join this national effort, complete an application through their website at www.4thetroops.org. For interviews, email info@4thetroops.net or call (213) 891-8287.
