Ten individuals won this year’s awards each winner demonstrating a special flair and achievement in scholarship & citizenship, enterprise & innovation, music, journalism and photography. Set up in 2010 in memory of Anjool (Jools) Maldé (1984-2009), the Trust makes annual awards with prize money to select young individuals from the brightest of UK talents. ENTERPRISE & INNOVATION AWARD (co-hosts Young Enterprise)
LOUIS SUMMERS (Loughborough College), the MD of a start-up enterprise EZ Fitness for its product launch of an easy-fit weight lifting device.
Young Enterprise chief executive Michael Mercieca: “Start Up offers a real opportunity to get into business and start out as an entrepreneur. It’s always exciting to see how many students take part in the programme each year and what products they create, and the competition this year was particularly fierce. Congratulations to EZ Fitness from Loughborough College .”

Professor Malcolm Edmonstone (GSMD Head of Jazz): Helena’s final recital was one of the most captivating performances I can remember, in or outside of the school; it would have been at home on any stage, and the panel were unanimous in their praise. JOURNALISM AWARD (co-hosts POLIS, LSE)
JOELLE EID for her outstanding contributions and achievements during her Masters Studies at Polis.
Joelle’s most notable achievement was her short film ‘Telling the Human Story: Reporting Refugees from Lebanon’ (watch it HERE) .

JODIE BLACKBURN (Commercial) and RACHEL DEAKIN (Fine Art)
College Citation – Jodie Blackburn: A talented hard working student, Jodie produced consistent high standard imagery. The well-constructed and produced concepts contained in her final portfolio are testament to this. A bright prospect for the commercial imaging industry.
College citation – Rachel Deakin: Rachel is a very talented photographer with an incredible graphic eye that informs an innovative and creative spin on traditional documentary practice; at its base is her fascination with her own region and culture. A very worthy winner.
