BioBeats, the leading machine learning platform that delivers insights about the real-time wellbeing and stress of employees in corporate settings and to consumers via its ‘Hear and Now’ app (currently ranked #4 in the App Store in the Mindfulness Category), today announced it has appointed a new CEO, Rob Brougham. Rob replaces current CEO and Co-Founder David Plans, who will become Chief Science Officer focusing on patents, algorithms, clinical and evidence trials.

This move highlights BioBeats’ intention to extend its leadership position and further accelerate its growth to become the platform for real-time consumer and corporate wellbeing monitoring and intervention, continuing to expand its reach and offering. In order to achieve these objectives, David and the Board identified the need to have an experienced commercial CEO to lead the next phase of the growth plan, and since the beginning of the year David has led the Board’s search for the right person.

Rob has a wealth of relevant experience gathered from 20 years’ in senior commercial, operational and technical roles working at both large, complex organisations and smaller, entrepreneurial environments. He has successfully grown end to end businesses within large corporate environments at BT, Virgin Media Business and Colt Telecommunications. Much of this expertise has been focused on managing fast growth, entrepreneurial business units – extremely relevant to BioBeats. In his previous role, he was CEO of the Telehealth and Telecare business for BT Global Services, responsible for the P&L and selling into the NHS and private sector. Before this, he held various Director positions at BT responsible for developing pioneering product marketing campaigns as well as partnerships and sales where he led the successful close of BT Wholesale’s largest ever deal at over £1billion.

Prior to this Rob was Director of Product at COLT Telecommunications, where he built and led an international product team and tripled international bandwidth sales in less than a year.

David Plans, Co-Founder of BioBeats, commented; “We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Rob on board to complement our extremely strong team of developers, AI and Machine Learning PhDs as we expand our commercial team and roll-out to corporate clients. Rob’s experience of direct selling, marketing, product, partnerships and high-volume operations will be invaluable in taking us to the next level.”
