Cumbria born writer John Antony Spriggs’ first play The Story of Gary Oscar Davidson will premiere at the Salford Arts Theatre on Thursday 8th November and run for three nights.
The new play is the first by his company The Line Productions, and portrays a unique and black-humoured whilst sometimes quasi-controversial look at the life and times of our creator, focussing on his beginning, end and the relationships he attempts to manage in-between.
The Story of Gary Oscar Davidson is an original play which John has crafted alone, drawing on the ideas that the general population are taught that they (and everyone else) is made in the image of their creator. The play explores looking at the world and thinking about the person who would best represent the planet, thus meandering in to the story of G.O.D. and how G.O.D. came to be the creator of the world and what happened, portrayed in a unique and original way allowing the audience to absorb the deeper meaning of creation and its pitfalls.
This is a ‘must-see’ piece of theatrical genius from a talented young writer which unravels some of the thoughts and processes surrounding creation and human relationships.
The cast of five is a blend of youth and experience and is made up of actors from across the UK including some who are making their professional debuts.
Tickets for all performances price at £7, £6 concessions and are available from the Salford Arts Theatre via the web at http://www.salfordartstheatre.com or by calling the box office on 0161 433 8101.
The production is being sponsored and funded by XL Telecom as part of the company’s Arts sponsorship programme for 18-25 year olds – http://www.xltelecom.co.uk
