The Voiles de Saint Barth came to an end on Saturday 9 April, after a week of breathtaking sailing. As the main sponsor of the event, Richard Mille salutes the organizers and the success of this second edition as well as the sporting performances of the crews.

Once again, sailing conditions lived up to the island’s reputation, with strong winds and rough seas of an exceptional blue during the whole week. The competitors agreed that sailing the waters around Saint Barth was a unique experience.

The courses selected by the organizers offered spectacular scenery every day and presented a variety of tactical challenges, including a complete circumnavigation of the island which the crews tackled on Saturday during the final race.

Competition was fierce, with hard-fought skirmishes between the leaders in the different classes. In the Maxi-Yacht class, the star of these yachts, Rambler 100, brought its owner George David a second victory after last years. During the prize giving ceremony on Saturday evening he was presented with a limited edition Richard Mille RM 028 “Voiles de Saint Barth” diving watch.

A real «Formula 1 racer» of the seas, the Rambler 100 maxi yacht has taken the unprecedented technological capacities of its predecessor Rambler 90, winner at Saint Barth in 2010, to a new level. The comparison with the world of Richard Mille is obvious: exhibiting the same enthusiasm for innovation as well as ultimate performance.

With more than 400 sailors from 20 countries and 48 yachts at the beginning of the week, more than double the over last year, the second edition of the Voiles de Saint Barth kept all its promises and rightly retains its place in the main international regatta calendar.

As principal sponsor since the first edition, Richard Mille is delighted to be associated with its renewed success which further establishes his position in the nautical world.
