Making Croydon a Greener Place

Year 9 Pupil Gerald Onyango (myself) recently represented Thomas More Catholic School at Croydon’s Green conference at the Braithwaite Hall on Tuesday, 21 February.

Malcolm Wicks, MP, who is leading the national energy and environment debate at the department of productivity, energy and industry, began by stating that he’d rather be watching the Real Madrid V Arsenal match but that the environment was a very important matter! The Minister was very excited at the prospect of improving the environment of Croydon School’s, including Thomas More. He talked about renewable energy and was happy to say that Croydon are the leading authority of energy in the country and that Thomas More was one of the only schools to have solar panels installed.
