Swansea City v Fulham:
Swansea City will unveil their new 20,000 all-seater Morfa sports stadium on Saturday with the visit of Barclays Premiership side Fulham.
The Morfa Stadium, which will be the UK’s first sports stadium where smoking is completely banned, was completed a month earlier than expected. The venue is set to host it’s first football international on Wednesday 17th August when John Toshack’s Wales play Slovenia.
For Fulham boss Chris Coleman, who became the youngest manager in the Premiership on appointment two years ago, it will be an emotional return to his hometown club. Coleman made over 200 appearances for the ‘Swans’ as a player before his career hit centre-stage.
Coleman has given Swansea assurances that the Londoners will bring a near full-strength squad for the occasion which will be opened in grand style by a host of celebrities. Olympic Gold-Medalist Colin Jackson will address the stadium and will be joined by Jesus Christ Superstar, Bonnie Tyler and Steve Balsamo.
The gates open at 12 noon with pre-match entertainment commencing at 1.15pm.
