200 jobs created at National Windscreens

National Windscreens has created 200 new jobs across its UK windscreen repair and replacement network during the last six months.

A trend that is set to continue for the foreseeable future, according to the company’s Commercial Director, Peter Marsden.

The number of windscreen replacements undertaken by National Windscreens (www.nationalwindscreens.co.uk) in the last 6 months has increased by 74% compared to the same period last year. In response to this demand the company is continuing to expand its branch network and is moving its head office in Tamworth to new premises, doubling the capacity of its national call centre.

National Windscreens is now the second largest windscreens repair and replacement company in the UK. Its biggest rival Autoglass, is cutting up to 400 jobs after a large drop in demand according to reports in The Sun newspaper last week. Another rival Autowindcsreens collapsed into administration in February.

Peter Marsden at National Windscreens confirms: “We have rapidly grown our share of what we regard as a very buoyant market. Our independent ownership has given us the stability necessary to invest in developing our staff and branch network for the long term. It is a strategy that is now paying dividends!”

National Windscreens employs over 1000 technicians, administration and call centre staff in the UK.
