New digital quote-and-buy and PCW launch demonstrates business-led configuration and scalable growth on one platform ICE-Tech, a global insurance technology partner, today announced that Acorn Insurance, Acorn Group’s flagship brand, is live on ICE Policy with its household insurance proposition.
The launch includes a digital quote-and-buy journey and distribution through price comparison websites, bringing more of Acorn’s personal lines estate onto the same scalable and configurable platform. The milestone supports Acorn’s wider growth strategy by giving the business greater control over its household proposition, digital journey and future product change.
A New Focus for Household: Household is an established part of Acorn Insurance’s product portfolio. Bringing the proposition onto ICE Policy gives the business a renewed digital and PCW route to market, while aligning it more closely with Acorn’s wider technology estate.
Rather than introducing a separate core system, Acorn has used the same policy platform that supports its broader personal lines operations.
ICE Policy enables Acorn Insurance to:
- Manage multiple personal lines products on one scalable platform
- Configure products, rules and workflows in-house
- Build and manage its own digital customer journeys
- Connect propositions to price comparison websites
- Retain greater ownership of product change
- Adapt propositions as customer and market requirements evolve
This gives Acorn a more consistent platform foundation across its product estate, without technology becoming a constraint on how quickly the business can respond.
Business-Led Configuration
Acorn’s own team configured the household product and built the digital quote-and-buy journey, with ICE-Tech providing targeted support for the PCW mapping required for launch. No new core integrations were needed.
This level of self-sufficiency is central to the ICE Policy model. Acorn can make product and journey changes directly through the platform’s configuration capability, reducing dependency on vendor-led development cycles.
For the business, this means:
- Greater control over product development
- Faster response to changing customer needs
- Reduced reliance on external technical resource
- The ability to protect and evolve its own product and process IP
- More flexibility to manage change around commercial priorities
Technology supports the direction of the business, rather than dictating its pace.
One Platform for Scalable Personal Lines Growth
ICE Policy is designed to support multiple products, brands and distribution channels within one configurable environment.
By bringing household onto the platform, Acorn can build on its existing technology investment rather than introducing a separate system for each new requirement.
The platform provides the scalability to support increasing volumes and evolving distribution needs, while allowing Acorn to retain control over how products and customer journeys are configured.
This creates a stronger foundation for Acorn’s personal lines growth strategy: one platform that can support different propositions while giving the business the independence to adapt them over time.
Sam Bentham, Household Manager at Acorn Insurance, said: “Bringing household onto ICE Policy gives us a stronger digital and PCW route to market while allowing us to manage more of our personal lines estate on one scalable platform.
“Our team has configured the product and built the quote-and-buy journey directly, giving us greater ownership and the ability to respond more quickly as our business and customer needs evolve.”
Helen Bradley, Head of Delivery at ICE-Tech, said: “Acorn’s household launch demonstrates what a genuinely configurable platform should enable.
“Their team configured the product and built the digital journey, with ICE-Tech providing focused support for the PCW launch. This is business-led change in practice: Acorn can expand its product estate, adapt its propositions and continue scaling on one platform without technology becoming a constraint.”
Looking Ahead
The household launch brings more of Acorn’s personal lines operations onto ICE Policy and strengthens the platform foundation supporting its wider growth strategy.
ICE-Tech will continue working alongside Acorn as the business develops its product and distribution roadmap and identifies further opportunities to build on the platform.
