Chopstix and Oxxygen announce partnership at NACS Insight Convenience Summit 2015

Chopstix Group Co-Founders, Sam Elia and Menashe Sadik officially announced their partnership with Max Hilton Jenvey, Managing Director of Oxxygen Marketing Partnership at the NACS Insight Convenience Summit today on the 11th of June at the Pullman London St Pancras Renaissance Hotel in London where they shared a Chopstix Noodle Bar case study with the great and the good of the convenience market.

The NACS Insight Convenience Summit is an event where convenience and fuel retailing industry professionals from around the world discuss new knowledge, new commercial connections, network, and discover new ideas. It is the ideal platform for the three partners to tell the remarkable journey of Chopstix and its significant success over the years.

Max Jenvey, now Chief Operating Officer at Chopstix Group, presented insights into the rising British’s interest in ethnic restaurants, specifically those that offer noodles and rice. 43% of consumers are more likely to choose an ethnic restaurant which uses authentic cooking methods and ingredients, while 42% prefer ethnic restaurants where you actually see the food being prepared as it adds to the experience (Mintel 2015).

Sam and Menashe anticipated such a development and launched the first Chopstix Noodle Bar in 2004.   Now over a decade later Chopstix Group has over 45 sites across the UK and the Republic of Ireland. With brand values such as Oriental authenticity, fun, fast and convenient, the contemporary, on trend brand is totally ready to support a comprehensive franchise program and invites ambitious and motivated entrepreneurs to join the Chopstix family through its franchise and master franchise opportunities.

Sam and Menashe, Chopstix Co-Founders, said: “After experiencing continued and accelerated growth over the last decade, putting an extensive franchise support programme in place and working with Applegreen, Ireland’s largest independent forecourt retailer, enabled us to realise our ambitious expansion programme. We are delighted to welcome Max and tell the world about the process we’ve undergone to position our brand.”

Max Jenvey, Chopstix Chief Operator Officer, said: “After 25 years in the food service market and 11 years running my own company, Oxxygen Marketing Partnership, I am delighted to join the Chopstix family. Chopstix demonstrates immense growth over the last few years and I am now proud to be part of its continued success both nationally and internationally. It is a privilege and honour to tell the Chopstix story on such a prestigious stage on behalf of the Chopstix Team, at the NACS Insight Convenience Summit. This event inspires entrepreneurs and will set the foundations for future developments within the retail industry.”

In June, convenience and fuel retailing industry professionals from around the world will gather in Berlin and London for new knowledge, new commercial connections and networking, and the opportunity to discover and discuss new ideas from retail store tours. And, the event will feature the popular International Convenience Retail Awards—now in their seventh year, which recognize and promote convenience retailing excellence.

As a guide, the Berlin segment of the programme (7-9 June) will feature high level European retail thought leadership, strategy, trends and economics. Supplier hosted dinners and store visits connect our attendees and show them what is new in Berlin convenience retailing.

Our main conference days take place in Central London at the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel (10-12 June). This is the main ‘must attend event’ for the European and international industry with retailer roundtables, international best practice presentations on key trends/developments in the global industry, retailer case studies and our famous awards night programme.
