West country company vows to make communication easier and cheaper for UK doctors’ surgeries…
A Somerset company has vowed to save GP practices time and money in getting their vulnerable patients into the surgery for flu jabs this winter. CFH Total Document Management has offered to make its Docmail letter system available to surgeries across the country at reduced cost, to ensure that all appointment and reminder letters get out to the people who need them.
Dave Broadway, managing director of CFH, says, “As someone who has had a heart bypass, and has benefited from the flu jab, I know just how important it is for vulnerable people to ensure that they are protected against flu at this time of year.
”Last year around 15 million flu jabs were given across the UK – it’s clearly an enormous task, both in terms of cost and resource, for GP surgeries to send out reminder letters to all their patients who need the jab.
“By offering this service to GP surgeries at a greatly reduced cost for their 2008 flu jab campaigns, we hope that it will generate considerable savings for them both in terms of time and money, at a time when budgets are tight and all other costs are rising.”
CFH – one of the country’s leading document management companies – is offering to print, envelope and mail a single sided letter for just 20p (including postage, paper and envelope) – that’s generating a saving of 5p per letter over the normal standard Docmail cost of 25p, which as Broadway points out, is still far less than the price of a second class stamp.
“Our secure factory is APACS accredited, with security features designed to protect sensitive data for cheques and bank statements, so is ideal to handle this kind of information,” continues Broadway. “Our scale of operations means that we are able to offer this level of saving to GPs.”
He concludes: “We have been prompted to expand the service to GP practices throughout the country following the experience of a large, local practice which has been using Docmail for its appointment reminder letters. They are delighted as the system is allowing practice staff to concentrate on core activities instead of stuffing envelopes!”
Through the on-line service, surgeries click on the letter format they want to send, upload the distribution list, and Docmail does the rest from its secure site. The current offer is open to all GP surgeries in the UK.
