telent opens new Traffic Technology ‘Centre of Excellence’ in Warwick

telent today announced the opening of a new Traffic R&D Centre of Excellence at its Warwick Head Office.

telent’s Traffic Technology business is a leader in the provision of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) solutions including Real Time Passenger Information (RTPI) systems, Urban Traffic Control (UTC) systems and a wide range of traffic signal products including controllers, traffic signal heads, pedestrian signals and detectors as well as transport related mobile apps.

This new centre brings together telent’s ITS research and development teams with extensive laboratory and proving facilities to ensure its customers continue to maximise the benefits from ever-evolving ITS technology.

As well as being able to demonstrate the benefits of the latest ITS technologies and solutions to its customers, telent will be able to offer full ‘hands on’ customer training from this new facility.

Over the past few years telent has made considerable investments in product and software Research and Development for the ITS market, and recently launched a range of new market leading products, including our Optima Controller, latest generation ultra low power 4th Generation 3R LED signal heads, and new Remote Monitoring, MOVA and mobile RTPI applications.

telent has a strong engineering heritage, employing over 200 Design Engineers providing innovative solutions to telent’s customers across its various key markets including Road, Rail, Emergency Services and telecom operator. The opening of this new Centre strongly complements this and is indicative of telent’s continuing solid commitment to UK R&D investment.
