Children from Hodge Clough Primary in Oldham are learning to sing with sign language in a bid to raise money to help vulnerable deaf children in the UK and Uganda. The school is taking part in sign2sing, a fundraising event organised by the Deaf Health Charity SignHealth.

430 children are being sponsored by friends and family to perform the song and signs on the 5th February.

Headteacher Mr N Cavanagh said: “We’ve taken part in sign2sing a number of times in the past.  The children love learning the song and signs.  They pick them up so quickly.  We’re looking forward to performing the song and raising money for a really important cause.”

Schools, businesses, choirs and groups from across the UK are taking part in sign2sing from 1-7 February.    To register to take part go to: www.sign2sing.org.uk/register
