Milton Keynes group sign and sing to help deaf children

Europe Uncategorized

Hearing Dogs for the Deaf in Milton Keynes will be teaching local people to sign and sing as part of a unique fundraising event.

The organisation is taking part in sign2sing, an event organised by the Deaf Health Charity SignHealth, which raises money to help vulnerable deaf children in the UK and Uganda.

They will be singing and signing the specially written song and inviting others to join them to learn more about sign language.

Leading the group is Michelle Sapwell, who is qualified to Level 3 in British Sign Language:

“sign2sing is fantastic fun way to raise money for an important cause.  It’s also a great entry point to learning about signing.  Many people really get the signing bug and go on to learn British Sign Language.”

Hearing Dogs for the Deaf are inviting anyone who would like to find out more to join them at Milton Keynes Rugby Club, Emerson Valley Sports Pavilion on 3rd February at 7.30pm.    Entry is a donation of £1 to sign2sing, which will help SignHealth’s important work with deaf children.

Any other schools, businesses or groups interested in taking part in sign2sing can find out more and register to take part at www.sign2sing.org.uk
