Social support platform Mifinder has announced a £75,000 Seedrs crowdfunding campaign. The platform connects people with similar life experiences to reduce isolation and build mutual support. Following a successful round of recent angel investment, this campaign gives members of the public a chance to receive equity in the company in return for investing as little as £11.50. The campaign has been launched on the Seedrs website via the link www.seedrs.com/mifinder

Mifinder is an iOS app that uses instant messaging, GPS and location-based searches to help users meet people who share the same life experiences such as depression, living with cancer, bereavement and disabilities such as Asperger’s.

The team is set for expansion having appointed a new board under Chair Dr Rosalind Bergemann, Chair of Asperger Leaders and NED for Dimensions, a national support service for people with learning disabilities and autism.

This round will fund developments such as allowing users real time access to support groups and organisations nearby and online access to therapists; it will also enrich the user experience and position the team to produce bespoke platforms for the private sector.

CEO and Founder Gabriel Saclain said, “At Mifinder we’ve always focused on building communities, so we are very excited to expand our own community of investors. Our platform has the power to help large numbers of people, which makes it both a great tool for potential change and an excellent business opportunity.”

He added, “We have already built partnerships with major national charities so we are confident this funding round will give us the means to quickly bring Mifinder to the market and rapidly grow the company.”
