Metail celebrate 19th Birthday of Clueless with new shopping haul

In response to demand and to celebrate the 19th birthday of ‘Clueless’, on July 19th, British online fitting room technology company Metail adds new items to Cher’s digitised wardrobe.

Since the launch of Metail’s wardrobe in homage to Cher Horowitz from Clueless on July 2nd, thousands of visitors from all over the world have created their own Cher. The most popular outfits created have included the iconic yellow and black tartan blazer and collegiate white shirt.

The #ShareYourCher campaign in which consumers are invited to create and then share their own ‘Cher’ to win a £500 fashion prize launched Metail’s new ‘Share’ functionality. Each outfit created on a MeModel can be shared privately or publicly via Facebook, email or as a link to friends. Shared outfits can then be viewed and crucially, outfit choice feedback can be received from the consumers’ most trusted style advisors, their friends. Metail is the first online fitting room technology to allow consumers to share an outfit choice on their own MeModel.

Metail’s bespoke Digital Fitting Room launched on July 2nd, 2014 with the #ShareYourCher wardrobe. MeModels are also available to create on fashion retail sites around the globe. Once consumers have created their own personal MeModel, it can be accessed on any website offering the MeModel service online.

Founded in 2008, Metail is a British company developing online fitting room technology, which enables consumers to create a bespoke 3D model of them. The technology aims to increase consumer confidence in buying clothing online, whilst also reducing return rates for the retailer. Metail’s technology can be incorporated into any e-commerce platform and consumers, after entering a few simple measurements, can then generate a ‘MeModel’, which is 94-96% accurate to their specific size. Established by Cambridge graduate Tom Adeyoola, Metail has raised over £5.4 million in funding and officially launched with their first customer – Clothing at Tesco – in February 2012.

The company has since developed an international client base, spanning from Warehouse in the UK, to Zalando in Germany. Metail created a BAFTA nominated segment for ITV’s This Morning called ‘Take Over the Makeover’ which is currently being developed for the new autumn season, 2014. Based across two offices in London and Cambridge, Metail has built a talented and dedicated team of 40 employees.
