Onion Creek Volkswagen to Host Red Bull Rallycross Driver Scott Speed and the 7Up Beetle For Autographs and Photo Ops

Onion Creek Volkswagen, the largest Volkswagen dealer in Texas, will host Red Bull Global Rallycross Driver Scott Speed and the 7Up Beetle for autographs and photo opportunities from 4:00 – 5:30PM CST this Friday, June 6th it was announced today by Bob Larimore, General Manager for Onion Creek Volkswagen.

The meet and greet will be held at the dealership located at 10812 I-35 South in Austin. Onion Creek Volkswagen’s loveable Texas Sweet Onion mascots, Vidalia and Wally, will also be on hand.

Scott Speed began his career in open-wheel racing in 2001, when he won the Formula Russell title on his first try. In 2002, he competed in the Barber Formula Dodge and Star Mazda series while during that same year, Red Bull began its own version of “American Idol” for single-seat racing called the Red Bull Driver Search, created to put an American driver in Formula One. At just 19 years of age Speed won the competition. Red Bull gave Speed one of two full-time seats on its sister team — Scuderia Toro Rosso — for the 2006 Formula One season. In 2013, Speed began racing in the Global Rallycross Series. He competed in the Xgames in Brazil and won Gold in his first ever race for Olsbergs MSE, Rdio and Ford as well as winning the GRC race in Charlotte, North Carolina.
